   @nick if you have a dual or quad core then yes becouse it sais 2.4 ghz single core and a dual would have like 4.00 ghz so if you have a dual or quad then yes

   blacksheep the game will run smoothly in ur pc, nick you cannot play the game. and alex ur an idiot. you cant compare the processor speed of dual cores and single cores like this and graphics card and ram is also required, its not just the processor. adarsh u can run empire total war smoothly

    To all those who ask if it will run;
    I have been playing this on a dell inspiron 1720 for a couple of years. Stats were Core 2 duo @1.8, 3 (yes 3) gb ram (who puts 3 gig’s in…..?) and geforce 8200 (128mb). It ran in it’s lowest of settings and would lag horrably if I played a siege battle to the point I’d have to storm walls could I would drop to 1FPS.

    I bought some parts from ebay; 2.6 core 2 duo @2.6, took out the stupid 1 gb chip and and put in a two (4 total) and swaped out the graphics for a geforce 9600 m gt 512mb. Full factory restore.

    Now it runs on medium (no option for high or higher) fine with smoke causing no problems. I also upped the paigeing cache to 6000mb. I also varified the game cache and defraged it. All of these helped.

    Empire has alot of options for the graphics so play around and it’s a great game. As I said I have played it for a couple of years apart from a time out to be dissapointed by black ops.

    EVERYONE WHO IS POSTING USELESS INFORMATION

    In order to let us know whether or not you can or can not run the game post these THREE THINGS:

    Your video card ( THE MODEL not just how much Vram it has. saying, “i have 1gb vram” doesnt mean anything. Theres more to just Vram in a video card.

    Your amount of RAM and its clock speed (2 GB of 2000MHz ram is a lot different than 2GB 800 MHz ram)

    And your processor/clock speed ( The model of the processor and the “GHz” it / they run at)

    All in all, saying “I have a 2GHz processor, can i run it?” is completely a waste of time.

    I recently purchased a Dell XPS. It has a 2.5GHz Sandy Bridge i5, turboboost to 3,2 GHz, 6 gigs of DDR3 RAM, a 1 gb NVidia 2520, and runs on Windows 7 Pro. How well could I play Empire: Total War?

    I am a complete novice when it comes to computers so i do not have a clue about graphics cards or anything like that, all i know is that i have an acer aspire 5720.
